We do not normally allow outside food on our premises, but for your birthday we will make an exception . You may bring your own cake, but don’t forget to bring utensils, plates & napkins as well!

Airboat rides are available throughout the day where guests can journey through Lake Jesup; which is widely known for hosting one of the largest alligator populations in Florida (up to 10,000).  Our USCG approved airboats piloted by experienced captains provides a thrilling yet safe adventure for all.  Every ride is different as the natural scenery and wildlife changes with every season!

The female will then build a nest of sticks, mud and vegetation to lay 20 to 50 eggs.  The gender of the hatchlings depends on the temperature during incubation.  You can tell the sex of an alligator before it hatches based on the temperature near the nest.  High temperatures of 90° to 93°F (32°to 34°C) during incubation will result in a male alligator, while lower temperatures of  82°to 86°F (28°to 30°C) will produce a female.

Here at the Black Hammock, we offer airboat rides on Lake Jesup where you can witness alligator courtship and hear the mating calls from male gators as they search for a prospective female.

As a bonus, you will have a chance to see the baby gators swimming around from last season!  Lake Jesup is said to hold one of the densest populations of alligators in Florida.  It is an exciting experience and fun for the whole family!
