Tired of conventional travel destinations?  Have the adventure of a lifetime and take on our airboat rides just outside of Orlando, Florida.   The Black Hammock is located right on Lake Jesup – known for hosting the LARGEST alligator population in Florida!  Our US Coast Guard approved airboats piloted by experienced captains provides a thrilling yet safe adventure for all.  Our licensed captains are very experienced in the wild.  Your captain is not just a travel guide; he specializes in locating alligators, nesting locations and everything else Lake Jesup has to offer.  Every ride is different as the scenery and wildlife changes with every season.  Are you an avid bird watcher?  Our Airboat Rides include a tour of Bird Island; believed to be the largest colony of wading birds in the county according to the Seminole Audubon Society!

An airboat is an ideal vessel for getting around lakes and wet lands. The air boat is a very stable craft, and it’s completely safe to be on one when searching for gators. This type of boat is unique because it has the ability to move into narrow creeks and shallow wetlands.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Leaving the Black Hammock Marina your airboat will travel at speeds of up to 45 miles per hour, exploring the lake and hunting alligators with your guide and your companions.  Alligators can reach over 13 feet in length and weigh over 800 pounds!  Dress in comfortable yet weather appropriate clothing.  Hearing protection  will be provided as well as life vests for children.  Adult life vests are available upon request.  The Black Hammock air boat rides can accommodate both large and small groups.

Never try and feed the alligators during your airboat ride.  They have a bone crushing bite!  Many look like floating logs in the water; so you really need to be alert.  The best time to take pictures of them is when they are sunning on the bank.  Have your cameras ready as they often dive in the water when approached.
